My First One takes first in the $20,000-added Oklahoma Centennial Stakes Saturday at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw. Sent to the post as the 30-to-1 longshot, My First One held off a late rally and won in 45.94 for the 870 yards under the guidance of jockey Elliot Bachicha. Mr First One is owned and trained by Richard Ater, and has started nine times this year, with three victories and six finished in the top three.

Call Me Tater and jockey Larry Payne set the fastest time in the trials for the Grade III American Quarter Horse Association Bank of America Challenge Saturday at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw. The pair crossed the 400-yard finish line in 19.52, earning a 104 Speed Index. Call Me Tater is owned by Sammy C. and Johnny Martinez and is trained by Sam Martinez. The challenge finals will be held Sept. 26.

Crystal Sola posted the fastest time in trials for the John Deere Oklahoma Juvenile Saturday at Blue Ribbon Downs, breaking a 22-year-old track record set by Pocket Profit in 1987. Crystal Sola stopped the 350-yard clock at 17.11 for a 110 Speed Index. Ed Melzer is owner of Crystal Sola and Eddie Willis is the trainer. Jockey Jimmy Brooks was riding the winner. The finals of the Oklahoma Juvenile will be Sept. 26, when the Sallisaw racetrack also has a family day scheduled, including activities for youngsters.

Rushago, ridden by jockey Debbie Freeman of Vian, had the fastest time of 16.59 in the trials for the 330-yard division of the Black Gold Futurity Saturday. Trained by Guillermo Valdivia of Sallisaw, Rushago is owned by Sherry Gilmore. This was the third win for Rushago. Of the 89 2-year-old Quarter Horses who tried for a slot in the Black Gold, the top 10 with the fastest times will return for the futurity finals on Sept. 20 at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw.

Top Of The Game, number 8, was the winner of the Oklahoma Bred Derby Saturday at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw. The race was a duel between Top OF The Game and Ms Royal Zevi with Top Of The Game in front at the wire. The gelding is owned by Peggy and George Cobb from Yukon and is trained by Guillermo Valdivia of Sallisaw. He was ridden by jockey Debbie Freeman of Vian. They covered the 400 yards in 19.85 to claim the trophy and blanket for the 4th running of the Oklahoma Bred Derby.

Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw was host to the 24th running of the Oklahoma Bred Quarter Horse Futurity on Sunday when Chi Ter, owned by Joel Rod Pierce and bred by his parents Herb and Doris Pierce of Sallisaw was a length in front at the finish line. Trained by Brian Muse and ridden by jockey Kenny Muntz, Chi Ter covered the 400 yards in 19.65 for a speed index of 100. This made three wins in a row for the Pierce Ranch-bred gelding.
