A Sallisaw man was the winner of the grand prize during the recent Sequoyah County Men's Health Fair, sponsored by Cherokee Nation Redbird Smith Health Center and Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. A total of 165 county men participated in this year's event.
Ted Fine of Sallisaw won the grand prize drawing and opted to take the $300 cash over the new Marlin .30-30 rifle. There were also several other winners during the event. Jesse Frazier of Muldrow won a $100 savings bond, sponsored by First National Bank of Sallisaw, and Jerry Carter of Muldrow won a $100 savings bond, sponsored by National Bank of Sallisaw. Donald Robertson of Marble City also won a savings bond sponsored by Arvest Bank. Armstrong Bank of Sallisaw contributed $100 to the grand prize.
Organizers said they would like to give a special thanks to the many county businesses that contributed to the event, including Clif's Pharmacy in Sallisaw, Gore Green Country Drug, Johnny's Hometown Pharmacy in Roland, Muldrow Pharmacy, Roland Pharmacy, Sallisaw Pharmacy, Vian Pharmacy, Sequoyah County TIMES, Armstrong Bank, First National Bank, National Bank of Sallisaw, Arvest Bank and Sports Academy of Fort Smith, Ark. Thanks also goes to the nursing supervisors and students at Indian Capitol Technology Center and to the physicians, nurses, lab technicians, and staff at Redbird Smith Health Center and Sequoyah Memorial Hospital.
