MUSKOGEE - Trent Whitekiller led the Sallisaw golf team to a second-place team finish on Tuesday at the Fort Gibson Invitational.
The junior was the top Sallisaw placer at the tournament, shooting a 73 to take fourth individually on the Eagle Crest course.
Poteau won the team title with a four-player score of 315, edging the Black Diamonds by five strokes.
Blake Stuart had the Diamonds' next-best round, carding a 77 to finish 10th overall at the tournament. Sallisaw also got an 83 from Michael Anderson, an 87 from Blaine Teague and a 93 from Max Knoke.
Muldrow's team finished ninth at the tournament as Luke Morgan and Trevor Earls both grabbed top-10 finishes. Morgan, a senior, fired a 74 to get fifth while Earls was one stroke back in seventh place.
The Bulldogs' team score was 343 as Blaz McMullen had an 87 and Chris Waters shot 107.
Roland and Cave Springs also competed at the tournament, although both missed out on a top-10 team finish. Nate Farrell's 91 and Josh Niemann's 92 paced the Rangers while Cave Springs' best effort was 114 from Shantry Hilliard.
Medalist honors went to Sam Powell of Coweta. He won the tournament with a 70 while leading the Tigers to a third-place finish behind Poteau and Sallisaw.
Okmulgee InvitationalThe Sallisaw junior varsity squad beat out four other teams to finish second at Monday's tournament at Okmulgee Country Club.
Okemah, led by medalist Jason Martin's 71, took the tournament title with a team score of 329.
Sallisaw was second at 345 as four Black Diamonds finished among the top-10 individuals.
Blaine Teague led the way for Sallisaw, placing second overall with a 71.
Teammate Max Knoke was fifth with an 86, while Jason Metcalf and Quentin McKinney both shot 93s to finish ninth and 10th, respectively.
