One dead following mobile home fire
A Sallisaw man was reportedly found deceased Sunday afternoon by local firefighters after a fire was reported at his residence on South Main Street.
Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin said firefighters found Charles Tinsley, 57, inside his mobile home while they were working the fire, and police were able to identify him as Tinsley.
Franklin said a neighboring residence called 911 around 3:15 p.m. when they spotted the fire.
As of press time Tuesday afternoon, Franklin said they are still waiting to hear from the medical examiners office and the fire remains under investigation.
“We are treating this like a crime scene until we find out different,” Franklin said.
