Volunteers participate in ‘Day of Caring’
Sallisaw’s Boys and Girls Club commemorated United Way’s ‘Day of Caring’ on April 20 with adults volunteering their time for the community-based project. Russell Knoke (shown tilling) allowed the Boys and Girls Club to use his garden tiller to till soil for planting flower seeds, while others volunteered for the gardening process. Gardening volunteers included (from left) Lacey Prentice, Amanda Smith, Skylar Bishop, Joy Rhoads, Ben Hinds and Brason Calloway. Employees from Firstar Bank in Sallisaw also donated their time by helping paint. The Boys and Girls Club’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
