Men at work in Marble City
Progress continues on the $10 million structure in Marble City as workers from MASKA Builders apply standing seams and a roof to the building which will house a gym, food pantry, meeting area and space for other cultural-related activities once it is completed. James McAllister, superintendent of MASKA Builders, said the building is on schedule for its February 2024 completion date regardless of the extreme heat conditions for the workers. “We get more manpower when we need it and we reduce the manpower when we don’t, but the most difficult part of the construction is completed,” McAllister said. “That’s the slab and steel structure which is complete. Everything else will be easier to apply.” The building will measure 22,784,000 sq. ft.
