Brushy students win in ‘You Can Build It’ competition

Brushy School students Grady Taylor, Ryder Justice and Cephas Vang recently won first place in the “You Can Build It” competition.

The winning team used Sparks Corner Store as a model to build a replica of it, including gas pumps and ice house.

The students and their teacher, Carla Scavo, then presented the store manager, Jennifer Duty, with the model store they built. The students said they chose the business because “they help the community by providing fuel, snacks and good cheeseburgers....
