7 Sallisaw Takedown Club wrestlers place at state, including 3 state champs

OKLAHOMA CITY — Seven members of the Sallisaw Takedown Club placed at this past weekend’s Oklahoma Kids Wrestling Association (OKWA) State Tournament, which took place Feb. 16-17 at Jim Norick State Fair Arena.

Of those seven state placers, three were crowned state champions — Miles Sanders (43 pounds in the age 6-and-younger division), Lincoln Sanders (60, age 6-and-younger) and Kole Knoke (heavyweight, age 8-and-younger). Lincoln Sanders was named one of the Outstanding Wrestlers of the tournament.

At 105 pounds in the age 8-andyounger division, Harbor Hicks was a state runner-up and Clayton Warner was fourth.

Elijah Matlock was sixth at 55 pounds in the age 8-and-younger division, while Jaxton Roth was eighth at 120 pounds in the age 12-and-younger division.
