Sallisaw Mayor Ernie Martens this week signed a proclamation declaring National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week in Sallisaw. On hand for the signing at the Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library were members of Sallisaw NOW Coalition, Sequoyah County Health Department, People Inc., KXMX The Mix, KiBois and Sallisaw Police Department. National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, which encourages teens to ask questions about drugs, drug abuse, alcohol and alcoholism and receive scientifically based facts and answers in return, continues through Sunday.
