Sallisaw soccer teams lose home district matches

It was a rough Thursday night for the Sallisaw soccer teams as they lost both district matches to visiting Tulsa Regent Prep.

The Lady Diamonds lost 4-0, while the Black Diamonds were nipped 5-4.

The Lady Diamonds, who were slated to travel to meet district foe Porter Consolidated on Tuesday night, fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in district play after the loss.

For the Black Diamonds (4-2, 2-1), Wes Rodriguez scored all four goals for Sallisaw.

The Lady Diamonds will return home to meet district rival Keys at 5 p.m. Friday, then both Sallisaw squads will travel to face district foes Heavener on Tuesday at Harvey Stadium, with the girls match at 5 p.m. and the boys contest at 7 p.m.
