It’s OK
We all have heard of the 5 Stages of Grief. While it is a decent guideline for what most people experience, I want you to know it is not some golden handbook that must be followed to the letter or a straight line down the path. Don’t feel like you are lacking if you skip some stages or don’t do them in ‘the right order’. I, for one, never experienced anger. I was devastated by the loss of my Teddy Bear, but I never railed against God or the universe for taking him. It was his time and God called him home. Who am I to question that? My husband was hurting and depressed and I would have loved to live with him another 50 years, but I was only thankful his pain was gone even while I was dealing with the crushing pain of his loss.
