Former Vian player’s EOSC sweeps CASC, suffer losses to Seminole State
The regular softball season ended for former Vian Lady Wolverine Greenlee Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers by getting a road sweep of their archrival Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings on Tuesday in Poteau, then falling twice to host Seminole State College on Wednesday.

The Lady Mountaineers beat the Lady Vikings 5-3 and 11-1 in five innings on Tuesday before losing 9-5 and 7-1 to the Lady Trojans on Wednesday in Seminole.
In the Game 1 win over CASC, the Lady Mountaineers (31-17) rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the third inning and single runs in the fourth through sixth innings for a 5-1 lead.
For the game, Wells was hitless in three at-bats.
In defeat, DeLaney Willoughby was 2-for-3 with a run batted in for the Lady Vikings (14-32).
Isa Ray took the loss, fanning three batters in five innings. Allee Erne went the final two innings.
In the Game 2 victory over the Lady Vikings, the Lady Mountaineers had a 3-0 lead by the third inning. After the Lady Vikings cut the deficit to 3-1 after four innings, the Lady Mountaineers erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
For the contest, Wells doubled with a run scored.
In defeat, Brooklyn Adams doubled with an RBI, Ray doubled with a run scored and Rachel Dismuke singled for CASC.
Kattie Bailey took the loss, going four innings with three strikeouts. Chloe Madbull went the final inning with a strikeout.
In the Game 1 loss to Seminole State, the Lady Trojans got out to a 5-0 lead after three innings. The Lady Mountaineers cut their deficit to 5-2 in the fourth inning but got no closer.
In defeat, Wells was hitless in four atbats.
In the Game 2 loss to Seminole State, the Lady Mountaineers took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning Wells’ two-out, solo home run, but the Lady Trojans scored single runs in the second and third innings, then added two runs in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning.
In defeat, Wells was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, which was her 24th home run of the season — which tied the EOSC single-season record. For her EOSC career, she has hit 39 homers, which is the best in school history.
Through 48 games, Wells is batting .457 with 13 doubles to go with her 24 homers. She has 69 runs batted in and has scored 53 runs.
The Lady Vikings will end their regular season with a noon Saturday road doubleheader against Western Oklahoma State College in Altus.
