Sallisaw golfer finishes 6th at state, is an All-State alternate

BLANCHARD — Sallisaw senior golfer Avery Haywood finished sixth at the Class 4A State Tournament, which took place Monday and Tuesday at Winter Creek Golf Course. She shot a 171, finishing nine shots behind state champion Layne Ailshie of Fort Gibson, who shot a 162.
