Central football quartet represents area in Oklahoma Native All-State Game
EL RENO — Four Central Tigers senior football players, Joseph Lee, Cade Tucker, Easton Girty and Coy Blackburn, represented the area in the 2024 Oklahoma Native All-State Football Game, which took place Friday night. The foursome were on a victorious East team, which beat the West 12-7 — thanks to a late score.
Lee came close to scoring the East’s first touchdown on the opening drive, but he was tackled near the end zone on the fourth play of the drive and suffered a broken foot on the play. He ended up with 10 yards rushing through the four plays.
Blackburn rushed for 60 yards and caught three passes for 45 yards, but two of those catches helped the East convert on third downs on the gamewinning drive to extend the possession, which ended in the end zone for the game-winning score.
Girty had five tackles as well as a quarterback sack on the final drive of the game for the West in which it was trying to regain the lead and snatch away the win from the East.
Tucker did not have any passes thrown his way during the game.
