Black Diamonds duo plays in 2024 All-State Game
SHAWNEE — Two graduating senior Sallisaw Black Diamonds football players got to play one more football game as high school athletes.
Cole Stephens and Brock Streun played for the East team in the 2024 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Football Game, which took place Friday night at Oklahoma Baptist University. The East beat the West 14-6.
In the game, Stephens had three tackles, while Streun, who originally had been an alternate but got the call early last week to step in for an All-Stater who either couldn’t play in the game or declined to do so, had two catches for 12 yards and had two defensive tackles.
It was Streun’s final football game, as he signed in May to play baseball at Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.
