City approves ‘necessary evil’ of utility rate hikes

The cost of utilities — electricity, water and sewer services — is going up in Sallisaw after city commissioners approved the rate increases, cost-of-living hikes for residential, commercial and industrial customers that come as “a necessary evil.”
