Light up the holidays
We had 12 in attendance this past Monday. We had a net loss of 3.8 pounds this week. Brenda had the best weight loss with 2.65 pounds gone! Good job, Brenda! We celebrated with six members by giving out certificates of weight loss and bracelet charms to each. Donna received two certificates and charms for 10 pounds lost and also 5 percent of her weight loss; Lynda had a 10 pound loss and 10 percent weight loss; Brenda had a 10 pound loss and 5 percent weight loss; Machell had a 10 pound weight loss and 10 percent weight loss; Neve had 10 pound weight loss and 5 percent weight loss and I had 10 pound weight loss. The Ladder Contest is still in progress with Lynda and Annette tied by being at the second rung. We have one more rung to win this contest. Good luck Ladies! We have a new surprise box and had five stickers added to the box this week. Our chapter challenge for this coming week is to “call a TOPS member to check on them”. Shirley was out with covid, so I took care of the new contest titled ‘Roll the Dice’. As of Monday, Lynda is a head with 51 points. The winner will receive $25.

Our program was from the November/ December TOPS magazine. The article “Merry and Bright; Light Up The Holidays” was a positive program. This season, let us focus on the positive things we can do to share light and love with those around us without shelving our own self-care. Reframing expectations and paring down our activities to something more manageable can increase our enjoyment, helping us to reduce frenzy and stress. Maybe we can’t climb up onto the roof to hang decorations or if we can, perhaps we can choose to do less. Instead of cooking a big dinner for everyone in the family, maybe we could ask everyone to bring a dish to share. If we don’t have the time or money to make or shop for gifts as we’d like, perhaps, we can give people the gift of our time and attention instead f stuff. For this activity, we will find the light in the holidays by focusing on what is truly important to us and creating meaningful experiences for ourselves and those we love. We have a wonderful group of members that encourage and love each other. We welcome anyone to join us and get healthy with us.
