Muldrow gets road sweep over Ozark
OZARK, Ark. — Things ended on a high note entering the Christmas Break for the Muldrow High School basketball teams as they got a road sweep over Ozark on Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated Ozark 46-36, then the Bulldogs got past Ozark 54-50.
In the girls’ win, the Lady Bulldogs (3-5) broke a 9-all tie after a quarter by outscoring Ozark 17-10 in the second period to take a 26-19 halftime lead. An 11-4 third quarter for Muldrow upped its advantage to 37-23 going into the fourth period.
London Hardin scored a gamehigh 15 points to lead Muldrow, followed by Kilah Ellingberg and Maysi Fields with eight points each, Jensi Fields with seven points, Kayla Ellingberg with six points and Chloee Clark with two points.
In the boys’ victory, the ’Dogs (4-4) got out to an 18-6 lead after a period, but did see Ozark use a 15-10 second quarter to cut Muldrow’s advantage to 28-21 at halftime. Despite Ozark outscoring Muldrow 29-26 in the second half, the Bulldogs were able to hang on for the win.
For the game, Teaguen Collins scored a gamehigh 31 points to lead Muldrow, followed by Jesse Kilinc with 13 points. E.J. Zanders with four points and Jaxson Anstine and Parker Sevenstar with three points apiece.
