AG’s office awards sheriff office assistance grants
Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s office has awarded grant funding totaling $18 million to provide support for every county sheriff’s office in Oklahoma, including Sequoyah County, through a new program created by the state Legislature this year to enhance law enforcement services. Grants ranging from $150,000 to $300,000 have been distributed to all 77 counties based on their total tangible property valuation, with Sequoyah County receiving $250,000. Funds will be used for sheriff office operations including training, technology, equipment, capital improvements, stipends and more.
