New pastor at Vian United Methodist

Richard Ryan, shown with his children and two grandsons, has been appointed pastor at Vian United Methodist Church. He previously served as pastor at Bethel UMC in West Siloam Springs and as supply pastor in the Northeastern District of the church. Ryan was raised in Oklahoma City and Guthrie. He has served as a farm hand, grocery clerk, sailor in the US Navy, cook, carpenter, painter, and property manager. He retired from the Oklahoma Historical Society in 2004 and has served on and led mission teams in the U.S. and Mexico. He and his wife Katie live in Cookson with their three youngest children.
