High school baseball, softball games rained out
Mother Nature won all the way around on Tuesday as her morning rainstorm over the area rained out all of the scheduled baseball and slowpitch softball games.
The combination of Tuesday’s rainstorm and the fact that the new turf at Sallisaw’s baseball field has not been laid out postponed the District 4A-8 rematch with Muldrow, but it will be rescheduled for a later date since it is a district match-up.
Other baseball games lost to Tuesday’s rainstorm were Gore at Vian, Canadian at Webbers Falls, Keota at Gans and Central at Porum. The Keota-Gans game has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday in Gans. The other games have not been rescheduled as of press time.
Slow-pitch softball games that fell victim to Mother Nature on Tuesday were Vian and Central at Webbers Falls and Gans at McCurtain. Gans slow-pitch softball coach Jacklyn Green said the Gans-McCurtain game was going to be made up as part of a new three-way with Oaks on Thursday in McCurtain. Webbers Falls slow-pitch coach Kera Carter said the Vian-Central-Webbers Falls three-way likely will not be rescheduled.
