Sallisaw splits road matches against Grove
GROVE — The Sallisaw High School soccer teams split their road matches against Grove on Tuesday night.
The Black Diamonds defeated the Ridgerunners 4-1, but the Lady Diamonds were blanked 2-0 by the Lady Ridgerunners.
In the boys’ match, all four goals for the Black Diamonds (5-0) were scored by Wes Rodriguez. Josh Taylor had five saves, while Anthony Adame recorded three saves.
In the girls’ match, Promise Flute had eight saves, while Jocelyn Rivera recorded five saves for the Lady Diamonds (2-2).
After the Sallisaw teams entertained Heavener on Thursday evening at Perry F. Lattimore Stadium, the Lady Diamonds and Black Diamonds will be idle until April 1 when they travel to Gravette, Ark., with the girls’ match at 5 p.m. and the boys’ contest at 7 p.m.
